Upcoming FREE Shred Day

Due to concerns about identity theft, it's wise to shred those official documents when you have the chance, and of course I've been left tons of papers with personal information. So I love that the City of Austin offers a free document shred day in the spring. But there are two more free shred opportunities courtesy of University Federal Credit Union. After going through my garage this summer, I have at least four boxes of papers, some dating back to WWII. (My grandfather saved EVERY Army document they gave him, even his physical exam results.) Most companies charge a $60 minimum, so it's a real gift to find a free shred deal. If only the box limit were higher!

From UFCU event listings:

"Bring up to two file boxes of paper per household for free confidential shredding. Commercial high-volume shredders, courtesy of Iron Mountain, will be on-site to shred your records."
